The 4 Technical Elements

A producers job is to create a text for an audience, and then use technical products to portray their text. There are four technical elements that are focussed on.

Mise-en-scene – These are the visual focuses and consists of everything that can be seen in the scene. This includes the set, and/or location, the costume, hair, make-up, props and lighting.

Camera – This includes format, framing, movement, lighting and colour; everything needed to make the visual aspects successful.

Sound – Includes (non)/digetic sound, voice, music, commentary, noise fx, soundtrack and narration. Anything to assist the visual elements in creating a successful piece.

Editing/CGI – Including pace of editing, style, sfx, titles/graphics, and transitions. All the final touches to a text before it is published.
